GM and Winemaker Hired

The Blind Horse Restaurant & Winery announced today that Thomas Nye has joined the company as General Manager and Winemaker. Thomas Nye has vast knowledge and experience in the winemaking industry, having spent the past nine years at The Grape Escape Winery in Dayton, NJ as owner and winemaker of the custom crush pad winery. Joining as part of the launch of the Kohler winery, Thomas looks forward to continuing his success.

Thomas joins The Blind Horse Restaurant & Winery to continue Blind Horse’s recent success with their well acclaimed restaurant that opened in 2012. Thomas comments “I am excited to start a new challenge with The Blind Horse and look forward to working with the Moeller’s to further develop a unique food and wine experience. I am fortunate to be joining such a quality establishment that prides itself on top quality service and products.”

Matt Moeller, owner of The Blind Horse Restaurant & Winery said “Mr. Nye’s experience of crafting premium wines has made him a key addition to The Blind Horse establishment. We view his appointment as a sign of our commitment to becoming the leading food and wine destination in Wisconsin. The winery is currently in construction, but will be ready for the fall harvest. The excitement from our customers, regarding the winery, is what led us to expand our team. The addition will fit in with our ethos of innovation and exceptional food and wine. We are very fortunate that we were able to find someone of Thomas’ caliber to fulfill this role.”

“The opportunity to bring a Napa Valley style tasting room to Kohler is very exciting,” said Thomas Nye, winemaker at Blind Horse. “I derive great pride and happiness in handcrafting wines that are delicate and approachable. Our first wines will be produced in the fall 2013 with our first release available for purchase in 2014. Personally, I am excited about our move to Wisconsin where my wife, Nancy Seifert Nye, was born and raised. I am thrilled to bring her back to the area, and to raise our daughter among family.”
